Hierarchy of Responses
"Parents will be notified in person of ongoing behavior and/or extreme behavior concerns by the lead and/or assistant teachers in the classroom." - Quoted from Grandview CDC Parent Handbook
- Students are redirected when behaviors emerge.
- There will be an attempt by staff to separate the child from the behavior trigger.
- If behaviors persist, students will be given the choice to change their behavior or spend time "in my pocket". This means the child will stand, holding hands with a teacher, until the child is ready to change their behavior.
- If need be administrative staff will be called to remove the child from the classroom for a cool down walk around the building.
